Insulation & Drylining Supply for Liverpool and Merseyside
Liverpool's housing has its own character: large Victorian and Georgian houses split into flats and shared homes, dockside warehouses turned into apartments, and exposed coastal properties on the Wirral and up towards Southport. That mix means fire separation and sound control come up on almost every order we send there.
HMOs and flat conversions
Converting a house into an HMO or self-contained flats usually brings fire separation and sound requirements between units. Building control and your council's HMO licensing team will confirm what applies to your property. The core materials for that work are:
Period terraces and townhouses
Solid-walled Victorian terraces across the city lose heat through the walls and through suspended timber floors. Line walls with insulated plasterboard, and insulate between floor joists from below where there's access. In tall rooms with big bay windows, plan your cuts before ordering so you buy the right sheet sizes.
Coastal homes on the Wirral and Sefton coast
Properties facing the Irish Sea take a lot of wind-driven rain. Make sure walls are watertight before insulating them. For external upgrades, see our external wall insulation and K-Rend render systems.
Delivery across Merseyside
We deliver to Liverpool, Birkenhead, Wallasey, St Helens, Knowsley and Southport. Deliveries are kerbside with crane offload, Monday to Friday. Student areas and city-centre streets can be tight for parking, so tell us about access when you book. For next-day, check stock with us before 10am; otherwise allow 2–3 working days.
Merseyside FAQs
Which fire board do I need for an HMO?
That depends on the fire rating building control or the licensing team asks for. Send us the specification and we'll match boards and thicknesses to it.
Can I insulate a suspended timber floor from below?
Yes, if there's a void you can get into. Mineral wool held between the joists with netting or battens is a common approach. Ask us for a parts list.
Do you cover Manchester as well?
Yes. See our Greater Manchester page.
